1. How do you like your marshmallows? Why? Toasted marshmallows are a good measure of your roast degree preference. The more toasted you prefer your marshmallows the darker roasted coffee you prefer. Think of it as light roast, medium to dark roast and dark roast.

2. Which fruit do you prefer? Why? Acidity is a pleasant brightness in coffee, but may not be your preference. The lighter the roast the more acidity you will taste. Some coffees have great acidity and wake up your taste buds in the morning, others not as much. If you like grapefruits choose a lighter roast coffee. If you prefer bananas choose a medium or dark roast.

3. Do you add anything to your coffee? Why? Some coffees have a light to medium body and don’t hold up to milks and creams. If you add these to your coffee you may enjoy the medium to darker roasted coffees.
